In LaFayette, Georgia, three employees at Shepherd Hills nursing home were accused of sexual assault allegations. One employee was charged with sodomy, while two additional employees will be charged with failure to report. It is expected that more employees will be charged with failure to report, as well.
In late October, a family member reported the alleged sexual assault of a resident at the home. A police report disclosed that the resident reported the assault the night that it occurred, and continued to notify other employees as well as the nursing home social worker. Multiple employees were notified of the assault, but none formally reported the assault. They blamed the lack of reporting on being too busy and forgetting to report.
