A 94 year old woman is dead after getting her neck stuck between a nursing bed rail and the mattress on her bed. The nursing home is not revealing the amount of time that passed between checks on the patient. It is unknown how long her neck was wedged in her bed.
The coroner ruled her death an “accidental asphyxiation”. The family was notified and offered condolences. An internal investigation is underway for a report to “appropriate regulatory agencies”. For more, read the story.
