Aide Arrested After Family Captures Nursing Home Abuse on Hidden Camera

A woman who suspected that her grandmother was being abused in a nursing home made a startling discovery after she installed a hidden camera in her grandmother’s bedroom. After noticing unusual bruises on her grandmother, the woman was prompted to install the camera. When she watched the footage, she saw a nurse’s aide abusing her 89-year-old grandmother.

The woman had been told by the facility that her grandmother’s bruises were caused by her banging her hands on the rails of her bed. However, the video revealed a nurse’s aide who grabbed the patient’s arm, twisted it back, lifted her off the bed and slammed her back into the bed.

The nurse’s aide seen in the video has been arrested and charged with criminal endangerment of a disabled person. The nursing home has fired three additional employees in connection with the abuse. For more, read the story.
