Assisted Living Facility Employee Caught Stealing Possessions of Deceased Elderly Client

A 50-year-old assisted living facility employee was fired after the son of a recently-deceased resident complained that several of his mother’s belongings had been stolen from her apartment. The executive director of the facility reviewed surveillance footage which displayed the employee, taking three laundry carts full of property from the deceased tenant’s apartment.

The woman first denied the theft, but after being show photos, she admitted to having taken some of the deceased woman’s belongings and furniture, including an end table. Other video showed the employee stealing a mattress, and additional tables from the facility, according to court documents. The woman was arraigned and ordered to have no contact with elderly people or the assisted living facility. For more, read the story.
