Bed Holding Fees Enacted for Nursing Home Residents Taking Holiday Leave

Residents that want to spend time with their families during the holidays can do so, but it will cost them.  Residents that take short periods of leave for the holidays will pay a bed holding fee. The fee is consistent with the cost of receiving care for the day, whether the resident is present or not.

This will ensure Medicare continued coverage. Otherwise, residents may fear losing their coverage or their beds, while planning to spend time with their families making special holiday memories. For more, read the story.
