Bill Passes Allowing Cameras In Nursing Home Rooms

One state has passed a bill allowing “granny cams” to be used in nursing homes under certain conditions. One condition requires the family to notify the nursing home that they are installing a video camera in the residence room. The other condition requires that the family of the love one in the nursing home get consent from any roommates that would also be recorded by the “granny cam”. The camera can provide insight into abuse, or just allow a family to check on their relative's well-being.

“You can be on vacation, you can pull up your phone and see how she’s doing. You know are they moving her a lot, is she getting up, is she getting fed properly, so there’s a whole lot of things that you can do.”  For more, read the story.
