A nursing home outside of Buffalo in Eden, New York reported a 70% Covid-19 positivity rate this week, “making it one of the hardest-hit nursing homes in Erie County.” Out of 40 residents, 28 at Eden Rehabilitation & Nursing Center have been infected with the coronavirus.
The home joins four others who have double-digit percentages. Nursing home executives claim that “the positivity rates do not tell the entire story,” and despite the high Covid-19 positivity rate, there is “some good news as the pandemic persists,” such as several residents recovering from the virus, or not showing symptoms at all.
