Caregivers Arrested For Neglect and Theft from Disabled Adults

State investigators have arrested two individuals on charges of exploitation of a vulnerable adult and misuse of federal funds. The state attorney general’s office announced this week that the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigators arrested the two on three counts each of exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

According to investigators, a woman who was arrested is the owner and operator of a personal care home for disabled adults.  Both she and a male accomplice allegedly took thousands of dollars in social security checks from the victims. If convicted, they each face 30 years in prison, as well as$30,000 in fines. The victims have all been moved to other facilities. For more, read the story.
