A woman charged in June with abuse of a nursing home resident patient appeared this week in court. The woman, 50, faces felony counts of abuse of a patient and aggravated battery.
According to a report to police by another nursing home employee, the woman, a certified nursing assistant, had been abusing an 86-year-old resident, over a period of six months. The CNA had been observed spitting into the resident’s face and squeezing the resident’s fingers in order to control her. The woman is currently free on a $25,000 signature bond.
