Charlotte Woman Exposes Nursing Home Neglect

A Charlotte woman is exposing nursing home neglect that she believed killed her mother at the Health Center at Brightmore in Charlotte, NC. The woman claims that she visited her mother whenever she could as the coronavirus pandemic spread through the country. Her visits consisted of visiting through the window, and she checked up on her mother through intermittent voicemails from the staff.

One phone call notified her that her mother experienced pain and confusion, and had a Stage 3 Pressure Ulcer. Further evaluation revealed sepsis and a UTI. Her mother, unfortunately, passed from complications this past July. Her passing comes amidst over 10 complaints made to the facility. Despite the daughter’s belief that nursing home neglect caused her mother’s death, she has had difficulty finding an attorney to sue the facility.
