CNA Abuses Veteran, State Not Licensed To Investigate

A nursing home patient at a veteran's facility has sustained injuries from abuse. A CNA was found to have been the abuser. Law enforcement investigated the incident and the CNA was fired from the facility. The attorney general's office is also pressing charges.

However, the state is unable to investigate and offer citations, because the facility is not licensed with the state. This also prevents the CNA from receiving any negative findings listed in her license records. State officials are working to make sure veteran's facilities are listed with the state so they can be held accountable by the state. For more, read the story
