A 68-year-old registered sex offender was arrested last week after being accused of molesting a quadriplegic nursing home patient. According to police, the incident took place at the facility where both the suspect and victim were residents. The facility is run by Consulate Health Care, a national nursing home chain that operates facilities in several states including Virginia.
When confronted by police, the suspect admitted to molesting the man. The victim suffers from quadriplegia and had no way to retreat from the abuse. The suspect served six months in prison in 2008 for having sexual relations with a minor and was released from parole last May. The suspect is now being held on $20,000 bail.
