Coronavirus Vaccine Plan Unveiled for Nursing Home Residents

Federal health officials have released a plan to bring coronavirus vaccines to nursing home residents, “free of charge, enlisting two national pharmacy chains to help.” While the vaccine has not yet been authorized by the FDA, it was announced that trained staff from CVS and Walgreens will deliver the vaccine when it becomes available.

This plan will provide free vaccinations for some of our country’s “most vulnerable residents” in order to “eliminate all potential barriers to getting folks safe and effective vaccines,” as explained by a senior policy adviser for the Department of Health and Human Services.
