Police have confirmed that the shooting that killed two elderly people in a nursing home this week was a murder suicide. The man and woman who were shot Friday were husband and wife. The man was a frequent visitor to the facility where his wife had been living.
A friend of the husband contacted the police Friday afternoon to say that the man was acting strangely and had planned to visit his wife at the facility. Officers responded to check on the woman at the facility. When they asked a nurse to check on the woman, the nurse discovered the woman had been shot, and the man turned the gun on himself.
