The mother of a young nursing home patient is working to enact a new law to hold nursing home employees more accountable for their levels of care. Her son was placed in a nursing home after turning 21. He was in a car accident at a young age requiring a ventilator and feeding tube. He was in a children's hospital until he grew too old for that type of care facility.
The young nursing home patient quickly deteriorated and died a little over a year later. The patient's mother contacted social services and the police. She was devastated by his lack of care and wants to prevent others from the same. “I just feel that this is my way of protecting others.
