Dire Conditions in Indiana Nursing Homes

Screams of Sicely Daulton are echoed in wrongful death claims and inspection reports across Indiana's poorly staffed nursing homes.
Exactly what happened to Daulton is in dispute, but it's clear that in 2017, the 75-year-old former autoworker was screaming, her hip was shattered, and a staff member from Aperion Care Kokomo was calling 911.

Family members of Ms. Daulton blame the poor staffing of the facility. Daulton, an amputee with one leg, had already fallen fifteen times while she was a resident at Aperion Care Kokomo. Yet, even with a large amount of noted falls, in 2017 Sicely fell again alone while showering, without proper assistance.
