On Saturday, January 25, 2020, an organization in Beaumont, Texas welcomed people of all ages to make Valentine’s Day cards for residents of a local nursing home. Dozens of participants joined the annual “Spread Your Love” event, as they make efforts to become a more engaged community in Texas. Representatives will deliver cards on February 14, 2020 to select nursing homes in the community. A 9-year-old volunteer, Zemirah Riggs, sat and enjoyed the activity put on by the mall. She stated why Valentines Day is one of her favorite holidays, “I like that you can give to people and be thankful, and you get gifts from people. It’s all about love,” Riggs said.
