Engineering Students Create Solutions For Nursing Home Patients

University students in an engineering program are taking their classroom skills to nursing homes to aid patients with real problems to solve. Under teacher supervision, students listened to patients make requests and identify issues that they can help rectify. The students were able to work on a barrier option for one of the patients that was flexible and easily stored.

“As a student, you want to solve everything, you want to feel that you accomplished the mission, but there is only one problem out of many that you can solve,” the teacher of the class said. “You have to decide which can I solve, that’s the hardest problem.” For more, read the story
