Families With Wrongful Death Claims Work To Prevent Nursing Home Owner From Future Profit

An attorney representing families of nursing home patients with wrongful death claims is trying to prevent the owner of a nursing home from profiting on a real estate project. The issue they state is that the nursing home owner pleaded hard times and reduced nursing home care for patients resident at his nursing home facility. Cutbacks included reduced air conditioning, reduced staffing, contaminated food, and less security. Family members were told that there were financial troubles.

The problem with the financial issues claim is that at the same time the cutbacks were in place, the owner was able to spend $9.5 million on car businesses for his new building project. The attorney has placed two $5 million liens on the nursing home to try to prevent spending and increased profit from future real estate or business endeavors until the families are rightfully awarded for their claims.
