Family Files Lawsuit Following the “Preventable Death” of Relative in a Nursing Home

A lawsuit was born after a family alleges their relative’s mental and physical health declined after being admitted to a nursing home.  According to the suit, the 65-year-old was a victim of several preventable deficiencies.  Claims against the nursing home and its administrator include failure to prevent and treat pressure ulcers, dehydration, and infection, among others.

The lawsuit continues to claim all facility short-comings “were foreseeable and caused and/or contributed to [the patient’s] death.”  According to Medicare.gov, the nursing home defendant currently has a one out of five star rating.  For more, read the story.
