The sons of a former nursing home patient have filed a lawsuit for wrongful death against the nursing home. The patient was admitted after a fall with a broken leg. The patient developed gangrene, had his leg amputated, and developed pressure ulcers on his backside the size of a fist.
The family alleges in its lawsuit that the nursing home allowed their 67-year-old father to deteriorate and ultimately die under their watch. They also failed to transfer the patient to the hospital upon numerous requests from the family. The family also claims the nursing home hid him from them for a week, when moved to another room. He died 118 after being admitted. For more, read the story.
