The family of a loved one has filed a lawsuit against a nursing home after a patient was photographed sitting in feces. She also had feces smeared on her face. The family is filing the lawsuit without the patient's name in hopes of reserving some of her dignity. The lawsuit cites low staffing as one of the reasons the patient suffered abuse and neglect.
“Every time we went there it was another issue,” said the patient’s son. “She wasn’t being fed. She had fallen. She was covered head to toe in feces. Every staff member you would have contact with would mention that they were understaffed – that they couldn’t keep up with all the patients.” For more, read the story.
