Following several instances where an elderly patient at a nursing home facility was developing bruises, the patient’s family became suspicious of abuse. The family installed a security camera in the patient’s bedroom at the facility, which allegedly shows the patient being aggressively handled and abused by nursing staff. Staff had originally reported to the family that the patient fell out of her own wheelchair, which the aides claimed caused the patient’s bruises.
“She was a fine Christian woman and very loving. She would have done anything for anybody,” said the patient’s granddaughter during an interview. The patient passed just a few weeks following the security footage. For more, read the story.
