Former Nursing Home Employee Charged with Patient Neglect

One former Licensed Practical Nurse recently pleaded not guilty to two felonies and two misdemeanors following charges of patient neglect. In 2017, an elderly resident at a nursing home choked to death under this nurse’s supervision. According to a detective, the police had grounds to believe patient neglect occurred under this nurse’s care.

The police detective stated the brother of the deceased patient “was packing up his brother’s belongings when somebody approached him and he made allegations he felt that a staff member at Kent Healthcare was not providing adequate health care.” The nurse was terminated on the date of the incident in 2017.
