Granddaughter Advocates To Reunite Nursing Home Couple Separated In Two Different Facilities

The granddaughter of two nursing home patients is trying to rally support through social media. Currently her grandparents are separated. “After 62 years together in marriage they have been separated for 8 months due to backlogs and delays by our health care system, whom have the power to have my grandpa moved to the same care facility as my grandmother. They cry every time they see each other, and it is heartbreaking,” said the patients' granddaughter.

The granddaughter fears that increased time apart will worsen her grandfather's memory of his wife, as he has dementia. He was also recently diagnosed with lymphoma. Her hope in sharing the story is that her grandparents can be reunited beyond the days that she drives them to see one another. For more, read the story
