The State Department of Health Services has opened an investigation into the death of a patient who was reported missing from the a nursing home one month ago and found last weekend in a river. A hunter found the body of 43-year-old, about 8:35 a.m. Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Department. According to the medical examiners, the man died of accidental drowning.
According to the Sheriff, the facility which cares for the elderly and people with chronic mental diseases, had reported the man missing Nov. 3. It is unclear at this time whether the man was in a secure unit of the facility or was allowed to leave the facility on his own accord. For more, read the story.
