High School Students Throw “Senior” Prom For Nursing Home Residents

As high schools across the nation prepare for prom, one group of students decided to provide nursing home “seniors” a prom of their own. The prom attendees ranged in ages from 80 to 101. The event included 75 seniors and their families, featuring food, dancing and prom queens, as their was a tie for the title. The residents enjoyed themselves, as did the students.

“We had such a great time,” nursing home activities director Debbie Horvitz said. “We had a tie for queen and we had a king. One of the queens and kings were holding hands for the rest of the prom. The kids did a great job.” They even made corsages for the seniors. For more, read the story
