A home has filed for bankruptcy protection after accusations from the State Department of Health. One of the safety violations noted a 12 foot extension cord with exposed wires in the room of a blind resident. The home worked to improve the safety concerns after receiving the citations.
The violations led to fines of upwards of $10 million, which the home was unable to pay. Therefore, the home needed protection to remain open and continue providing jobs for the nursing home’s 110 employees. For more, read the story.
