A caregiver accused of stealing over $7,500 from an elderly client has been indicted by a grand jury. The woman faces multiple charges of elder abuse and fraudulent transactions. The suspect was a home health nurse for the 86-year-old victim.
The nurse allegedly stole the patient’s debit card and withdrew cash from her account. The patient reported the caregiver after finding 31 suspicious charges on her account statement. An ATM camera showed the woman accessing the patient’s bank account. According to police the nurse frequently withdrew money in amounts ranging from two to three hundred dollars.
