Home Health Provider Charged with Fraud

Police have arrested a woman who claimed to provide home health care for the elderly. The woman, 40, was booked into jail on four counts of fraud, two counts of credit card fraud and one count of elder abuse following a two-week investigation.

Police began the investigation after being called by the family of an 86-year-old woman who noticed problems with her bank account last month. When the woman’s family members reviewed her bank statements, they discovered checks written to the home health employee had not been signed by the elderly woman.

The family had hired the woman through a website, where she offered her services as a home health care provider. The police investigator on the case is concerned she may have other victims. For more, read the story.
