The husband of a woman facing charges on elder abuse has also been charged as new developments have unfolded. The couple is accused of stealing from a relative living in an assisted living home.
According to police, the couple spent $83,000 of Jackie Humphrey’s life savings in Hamilton County. The woman, a relative, had power of attorney over Humphrey’s financial affairs. Another relative has since been given power of attorney.
Her husband has no been charged with theft over $60,000. A warrant for the same charge is still pending on his wife. A civil suit also claims $800,000 remains unaccounted for. This complaint alleges that the woman paid $165,000 for a home with Humphrey’s savings. For more, read the story.
