As nursing home and assisted living residents feel the effects of strict visitation policies, Indiana caregivers claim that these restrictions are abusive, as loved ones are more prone to nursing home abuse without consistent visits from their family and friends. Others argue that while the restrictions made sense for the short-term, there is no reason to continue long-term restrictions as rapid testing becomes more available for athletes and other populations.
While some policies and restrictions are changing, the article explains that several facilities are communicating the policies poorly, building distrust and confusion.
