Judge finds nursing home emeployees not guilty of elder abuse caught on tape

A judge found three healthcare workers not guilty this week of abusing an elderly patient. The verdict issued by Judge Kevin Kelly followed a one-day non-jury trial held December 9th. The three women had been charged with simple assault, false imprisonment and neglect of care in the case of a 78-year-old nursing home resident.

According to authorities, the abuse was captured on a hidden camera after the resident, who has Alzheimer’s, complained to her family she was being abused by workers. The woman’s family set up a camera and captured footage which prosecutors said showed the defendants taunting the woman as she stood partially undressed in her room. ForĀ  more, read the story.
