A licensed caretaker is in custody on
suspicion of raping an elderly woman at a residential health-care
facility.
The woman, who is in her 80’s, told authorities on Wednesday that
she had been raped Friday night, said the sheriff’s department.
He described the care home as a “small facility” and would not give its location.
The
suspect, 50, has been employed at the
home for six months and is a state licensed caretaker.
The
woman was not injured but remains traumatized, one official said. “It was a
very traumatic event and there is a lot of embarrassment and emotions,”
