Long Term Nursing Home Neglect Leads To Facility Closing

A state health department is overseeing the closure of a nursing home facility after it failed to improve treatment provided to patients. The nursing home facility was placed in probationary program that typically brings a facility back in compliance at the end of two years. The facility was not able to improve the necessary areas of care.

As a result, the nursing home has decreased to 23 patients in a 54 bed facility. The state has already suspended federal reimbursements including Medicare and Medicaid payments. For more, read the story.
