A retired sergeant and his neighbor decided to share Christmas with veterans in nursing homes this year. They spread the word of their desire to raise funds for local veterans to purchase gifts in the amount of $600. “Veterans and nursing home are key words when you are asking people for donations,” said the sergeant.
The neighbors came dressed in military style and a Santa Claus suit. They distributed gifts for the residents from duffle bags. The presents included teddy bears, puzzles, cards, stamps and pencils. For more, read the story.
