New Protective Orders Proposed for Nursing Home and Assisted Living Patients

In the aftermath of 12 deaths from the same nursing home, a state governor is proposing to add protection of nursing home patients and assisted living facilities to the state constitution. In addition to adding orders for all facilities to maintain generators to support air conditioning in the wake of another storm, the governor would like to add other protective orders. 

A committee is currently drafting those proposed additions to the constitution with the intention of adding “permanent measures to put safety first”. For more, read the story
