Veterans Hospital Settles Pressure Sore Wrongful Death Lawsuit for $223,000

A wrongful death complaint against a Veterans Hospital has been settled for $223,000.The man was admitted to the VA hospital in 2013 at the age of 52, suffering from multiple issues resulting from severe obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes. Nursing Home Patient Overdoses On Unsecured Narcotics

A nursing home patient was permitted to overdose on unsecured narcotics. The investigation has also determined that the facility “has a much higher number of health citations than the state average — a total of 31,” according to a federal website.The facility was fined in 2016 and 2017 a total of hundreds of thousands of dollars. CNA Slaps Nursing Home Patient For Spitting Her Food Out

A certified nursing assistant lost her job at a nursing home for slapping an 81-year-old patient in the face. County Nursing Homes' Director Resigns For Failing To Notify Officials Of Patient's Death After Fall

A county nursing homes director resigned in part for failing to advise county officials about a state investigation of an unreported nursing home patient's fall which led to her death. The nursing home aides who were helping the 93-year-old resident at the time she fell filed no reports after the fall.  A few days later, the patient had extensive bruising.  She died a few days later at the hospital.
