Nursing Home Assistant Charged With Patient Sodomy, Abuse

A former nursing home assistant has been charged with first degree sodomy charges, second degree elder abuse, and attempted first degree sodomy charges. A witness saw reported that an incident occurred in which a patient was attacked and was injured trying to fight the nursing assistant during the assault. The patient victim was 68-years-old. The nursing assistant was immediately terminated when the incident was reported.

Nursing Home Aides Arrested For Endangerment Of Paitent

Two nursing home aides have been charged with a misdemeanor and a felony after allowing a dementia patient to wander from the facility and then falsifying records stating the patient's whereabouts were verified every 15 minutes. The patient was missing for 7 hours without administrative knowledge. When it was finally realized that the patient was missing, the facility reported the missing patient to police. The patient was found 2 miles from the facility wandering through streets.

 A nursing home is closing due to lack of funding. The facility received several state inspections yielding bad reports. As a result, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid terminated funding for the facility. Patients will need to relocate as the facility closes.
