A fatal fire that killed four nursing home patients and injured more than two dozen others is still under investigation. The start of the fire has been identified as the back patio of the facility. Nursing Home Fined For Patient Deaths

A nursing home has been fined $50,000 for numerous patient deaths pointing towards neglect and abuse. The fine is the highest the facility has ever received. One patient who had no wounds upon admission, suffered bed sores infested with maggots and died as a result of the untreated wounds. Another patient noted in the survey was a patient with worsening ovarian cancer that went unreported.
