Two executive brothers have been indicted for a fraud scheme involving healthcare. The scheme involved $16 million in fraud and kickbacks. The brothers worked together to commit mail, wire and healthcare fraud.

The use of granny cams is becoming viewed as a solution more and more often to fight nursing home abuse. Families are increasingly installing them for peace of mind and protection of their loved ones. Nursing home abuse incidents are going largely unreported in one state. After a mentally impaired resident was sexually assaulted by another resident that went unreported by the facility, an investigation ensued. The sexual assault incident was reported to police who arrested the resident. However, according to the state health department, many have gone unreported.

 A lawsuit was filed against a nursing home that allowed patients to suffer pressure ulcers, falls, dehydration and malnutrition, among other physical, mental and emotional harms. In addition, the nursing home made claims to Medicare and Medicaid of unnecessary and unhelpful services offered to patients.
