A nursing home worker has been sentenced to prison and to pay fines in a theft case. The nursing home employee was accused of stealing several patients' debit cards. She also stole a patient's diamond ring with an estimated value of $3,000.The worker will serve one year in prison with one year suspended.

Nursing Home Employee Pleads Guilty To Embezzlement Charges

 A nursing home employee has pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement totaling more than $80,000. The employee was siphoning money from the patient's payments through an operations account. She then forged checks to herself with the signatures of patients under the guise of payment for activities, dinner outings, and small events. The former financial overseer now faces up to 20 years in federal prison for the crime.
