A nursing home patient is dead after she and another patient wandered from the nursing home facility where they were residents. Upon realization that the patients were missing, police were called to search. A resident called the police during the search to state that the patients were in their backyard. The police investigation reveals that the patients probably left the facility through an unsecured door.

A nursing home along with its administrator are being sued for allowing a patient to wander from the facility and die. The patient was known for wandering and when she went missing for seven hours fell down an embankment into a pond. The patient was then attacked by an alligator and dismembered.

A lawsuit has been filed against a nursing home by the widow of a patient. The patient was allowed to wander from the facility without pants in 42 degree weather. The patient was suffering from dementia and suffered injuries that led to his death months later. The nursing home is alleged to have failed to offer proper supervision and failed to train staff properly.

State public health officials are investigating various incidents that led to the death of four patients at one nursing home. The incidents have brought questions as to whether or not the deaths could have been prevented.
