A jury has awarded $5.2 million in damages on behalf of three patients who died due to negligent nursing home care. The nursing home patients all required breathing or trach tubes. The patients were not properly monitored to avoid pulling the breathing tubes out of place. The patients all had call bells that were either turned off or manually turned off by staff.

A nursing home patient has died after suffering from Legionnaire's disease. Individuals who are vulnerable can contract the disease that causes pneumonia. The disease comes from individuals who are more susceptible to sickness, for reasons such as diabetes, or immune disorders. Local officials from the health department investigated the nursing home where the patient died to ensure no other patients had contracted the disease.

Nursing Home Patients Receive Special Valentine's Day Treat
Nursing home patients at a nursing home facility received a special Valentine’s Day treat. A volunteer brought a miniature horse bearing Valentine’s Day cards for each patient.
