A nursing home patient has died after overdosing on heroine. In response to the use of heroine by patients, the nursing home has been fined $100,000. Negligence was shown in the death of the patient when nursing home staff knew that the patient was seeking out drugs from a visitor and did not report the issue.

A nursing home employee accused of rape of two of his patients is being released on bail. However, he has specific conditions while he awaits trial. A nursing home has been cited after allowing a nurse moved a patient without protective leg wear. The patient sustained a cut on her leg and required 11 stitches. Six other nursing homes in the area were also cited for incidents related to patient deaths and a patient fall.
Nursing Home Patient Abuse Caught On Surveillance Video
Surveillance video revealed abuse of a nursing home patient after a video camera captured nursing staff actually lifting a resident out of her wheel chair and slamming her on the floor, turning out the lights and leaving her there in darkness for more than an hour while she cried out for help. A nurse came in later to help her back in bed. The video reveals physical and emotional angst. The state health department viewed the video and fined the facility for the abuse.
