Nursing Home Employee Found Sleeping In Car On Drugs
A nursing home employee was found sleeping in her car and approached by police after receiving a call alerting them to the sleeping employee. The employee was found to be using drugs and allowed the police to search her car. She had methamphetamines, marijuana, and paraphernalia in her car. The nursing home employee was arrested and placed in the hospital until no drugs were in her system.
Nursing Home Employee Sentence For Assault
A nursing home employee has been sentenced to jail for committing multiple crimes. Among those crimes, was sexual abuse. The employee place a 99-year-old patient in a bathroom on one occasion while he sexually assaulted her daughter who was visiting. “Residents of nursing homes and their loved ones visiting them are entitled to courteous and respectful treatment, and the right to a dignified existence in the place they call home,” the attorney general said.
Nursing Home Abuse Comes After Employees Did Not Have Background Checks
A nursing home under investigation for employees abusing patient by taking unapproved photos of them has shown neglect in hiring those employees. The employees have not been receiving background checks before hire. The nursing home has not verified that employees do not have a history of abuse before hire. The nursing home was cited by the health department after they could not produce records that employees received background checks.

A nursing home has been cited for unsanitary conditions causing employees to speak out against the uncleanliness and poor care of patients. One nursing home employee filmed giant cockroaches in the kitchen and then reported it to administration. Rather than appreciation, the report was met with termination of the employee. Other nursing home employees decided to speak up after the whistleblower first spoke out against the conditions.
Nursing Home Facility Receives Fine For Neglecting Patient Care
A nursing home facility has been fined $20,735 due to violations of patient care. The violations included failure to prevent and treat bed sores in 7 of 10 patients reviewed during a survey. One patient had a tissue in her bloody sock. Other citations involved expired medicine that was not disposed of properly, as well as medications without expiration dates.
Nursing Home Facility Cited For Malnourished Patients
A nursing home facility is geared towards shutting down after receiving citations just 2 months ago. Surveyors found that patients were not being sufficiently nourished and conditions were not sanitary. An interview of the staff revealed that food had not been delivered for a month due to unpaid bills. Staff members were purchasing food for the patients with their own money.
