A nursing home is closing in one state after being decertified. The nursing home lost all but three of its patients after losing its certification, leaving it impossible to keep the doors open. The nursing home was in the process of changing management when it learned of the decertification.  The decertification was a result of deficiencies in patient care.

Nursing Home Incident Site Adds In-Home Care Incidents To Registry

Nursing Home Wrongful Death Lawsuit Ends In $5 Million Award By Jury

A nursing home wrongful death lawsuit ended with a jury trial and award of $5 million to the family of a patient who died in their care. The family was awarded $500,000 in damages for wrongful death, $57,000 for negligence and  $5 million in punitive damages by the jury. The patient declined within six months of admission from loss of weight, bed sores, infection, including a urinary tract infection.
