Jury Awards $1 Million Award To Estate Of Deceased Nursing Home Patient

A family has been awarded $1 million in response to a patient’s death at a nursing home facility. The patient sustained severe and fatal pressure ulcers, while illness and injuries led to her death. Punitive damages were awarded in the amount of $560,000 and compensatory damages were awarded in the amount of $440,000.  Family members say the patient was neglected and did not receive proper care in a safe environment.
