A nursing home aide, along with her accomplice are accused of stealing property, grand larceny, tampering with business records. The aide stole a credit card from a patient for whom she cared and spent $5,000 with it. The accomplice helped her get past the pin code to spend money.  The money was spent on gambling among other things, along with bank withdrawals.

Nursing Home Lawsuit Cites Claims Of Negligence

The power of attorney for a nursing home patient has filed a claim in a lawsuit against a nursing home facility. The claim states that the nursing home staff allowed the patient to fall, sustaining a fracture. The claim sites negligence of care in monitoring the patient, and failure to provide a safe environment.  The lawsuit seeks damages and attorney fees, citing reckless misconduct and statutory violations.

Nursing Home Staff Sentenced To Jail For Abuse Of Patient

Three nursing home caregivers were sentenced to 60 days in jail for verbally and physically abusing a patient in their care. The nursing staff slapped and splashed water on the patient, threatening to splash urine instead. The patient died a month later.  Although the abuse was more than unfortunate, it was fortunate that the patient told his son about the poor treatment and the nursing staff was secretly recorded on video.
