A family member of a nursing home neglect victim is speaking out on behalf of his mother and other patients still at the nursing home. He says his mother suffered bed sores and was not bathed at the home. He also says he has pages of notes regarding neglect observed.  His mother was discharged to the hospital and declined from returning to the nursing home.

 A charge nurse needed to provide saline solution for her patients without the assistance of IV pumps that were necessary to measure the mixture. She measured by hand, eyeing the amount in the IV with a flashlight. A nurse on the next shift discovered the wrong medication was provided to the patients.

A nursing home caregiver has been charged with two misdemeanors for abuse of a man suffering from dementia. The caregiver allegedly yelled at the man and hit him. She also bathed him roughly while hitting his legs.

A nursing home caregiver is in danger after failing to administer 500 prescription drugs for pain to six patients in his care for 103 days. He instead stole the drugs from the facility and kept them for himself. He was arrested on six felony counts of obtaining a prescription for a controlled substance by false pretenses.  “The defendant has a code that is specific for him to be able to obtain medication and is only known by the defendant and also needs a finger swipe,” a police officer on …

A complaint has been filed regarding the abuse of a nursing home patient. A nursing home advocate has been watching the facility for some time, noting severe deficiencies in care. She stated, “I have filed numerous complaints and I kept a close eye on this facility knowing that it was constantly out of compliance.” The patient’s daughter filed the complaint which caught the attention of police.

Charges have been filed against a nursing home assistant for assaulting a dementia patient. Another nurse testified that the patient was struggling and hit her in the process. The nursing assistant facing charges allegedly drug the patient out of his wheelchair and into the hallway, pulling him by his hair.  The nursing assistant pleaded not guilty to the charges, saying he was pulling the patient by his shirt, not his hair.
